PROJECT UPDATE
We have made some recent updates to our websites to make it more user friendly and to help keep you better informed on the progress of Koloa Landing. The homepage now shows the current weather in Kauai and has links to register new prospects, and to view construction progress through the live web cam. We have also updated the home owner section of the website with all the updated condo documents. One of those documents is the latest amendment to our public report.
Koloa landing at Poipu Beach is registered with the Hawaii Real Estate Commission and the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Both of these agencies require that we submit any updates to the project information presented in prior reports through amendments. These amendments are commonly expected through the course of the project as construction and sales plans evolve.
Several months ago you were sent a copy of the Amended Public Report (issued on August 21, 2008). Recently we updated that report and the commission issued Amendment 1 to that report. This report contains the latest updates to the project and has been uploaded to the website under the public report section of the homeowner page for your ease of reference. Additionally, we will be sending via regular mail a copy of the Amendment 1 as well as an amendment to the HUD report. We ask that you review both and return your receipts of delivery, as instructed on the receipt forms, at your earliest convenience.

The Hawaiiana/Malama Ola Festival
The Hawaiiana/Malama Ola (to take care of life) Festival took place in Poipu, Kauai focusing on perpetuating and teaching Native Hawaiian Healing and Cultural practices. Over fifty different activities encompassed all things Hawaiian; demonstrations, lectures, health and fitness classes, panel discussions, cultural arts and practices displays, entertainment, and island delicacies. A popular topic and event at the festival involved the Hawaiian Tradition and Art of Lomi Lomi Massage.
"The lomilomi technique focused on finding congested areas in the body and dispersing them, by moving the palms, thumbs, knuckles and forearms in rhythmic, dance-line motions. Setting the intention for healing, the Kahuna would also utilize prayer (pule), breath (ha) and energy (mana). The practice of lomilomi was common within each Hawaiian community and contributed to a vibrant, healthy society."
This article on the history of Lomi Lomi, written by Tamara Mondragon, appeared as the cover story in the July 2000 issue of Massage Magazine.
