September 22-27, 2008 – Kauai Mokihana Festival

The Mokihana Festival is the Garden Isle’s time to embrace and share Hawaiian culture and tradition with one another. The Mokihana festival is a weeklong celebration that features hula auana (contemporary) and kahiko (ancient) hula, Hawaiian music (including as slack-key and steel guitar and the unforgettable uku’lele) and programs highlighting the cultural heritage of Kauai. The theme this year is"Year of Our Kupuna" and will honor the cultural contributions from our elders passed on from one generation to another. We invite you to come and join us for 24th annual Mokihana Festival, the largest and most prestigious hula competition on the island.

The month of July marked the beginning of vertical construction for Koloa Landing at Poipu Beach. The project site is alive with activity as the RCM (Resort Construction Managers) are working diligently to make the Koloa Landing vision a reality. Above ground construction is now visible on all five buildings of phase one as column concrete and steel reach to the second floor.  July additionally marked the completion of off-site work on Kapili Road.  As we continue to move forward we will keep you up to date with all the excitement.  And remember to watch construction live from the new Koloa Landing Web-Cam.
